By entering the BVIT Coast to Coast Phantom League, you acknowledge that you have read, understand and agree to the Terms and Conditions outlined below.
The League will commence on Monday 17th July 2017 and finish on Sunday 10th December 2017 (excluding school holidays). This League shall be open to blind and vision impaired bowlers from across Australia who meet the BVIT Eye Classification criteria of B1, B2, or B3, and who have forwarded their current eye classifications to the League Secretary prior to commencement of the League.
It is the responsibility of bowlers to promptly send his/her scores to the League Secretary by email or by text or telephone.
Scores will be from the first two games of their League scores ONLY. If a bowler participates in one or more Leagues during the week, the bowler must nominate ONE League only prior to commencement of the Phantom League, and shall only send in the TWO game scores from the nominated League.
bowlers who do not participate in a League must send their two (2) game results on the nominated day they bowl. Each week’s scores will be collated and sent to a Bowling Centre for processing by the ComputerScore (ComScore) system.
Weekly results will be posted on the BVIT web page as soon as practicable. These results will not be available from any other source. No details will be made available to bowlers other than those scores published on the BVIT web page. Final results will be based on the ComScore final week standing sheet.
All bowlers who wish to participate in the Phantom League must be current financial members of Blind and Vision Impaired Tenpin Bowling (Aust).
The management of the Phantom League will be vested in the Committee of Blind and Vision Impaired Tenpin Bowling (Aust).
The two (2) game cost per week is $2.00, the duration of the League will be nineteen (19) weeks, therefore the season cost will be $38.00.
If a bowler chooses to leave this league by any means at any time, and for any reason, no monies will be refunded.
Monies received by BVIT for the Phantom League will be held in the General Account until the completion of the League. All monies held will be paid out in full for the following:

Averages maintained in the League’s last schedule, based on 21 games or more shall be the entering average and be used for handicapping purposes for the first three (3) weeks of the League schedule. Bowlers with established League average must use their HIGHEST League average over 21 games for the first three (3) weeks of the League schedule.
NEW bowlers with no established League average will receive a handicap after three (3) weeks, having bowled a total of six (6) games. Thereafter, the average will be calculated on a weekly basis according to the number of games played. bowlers entering the League mid-season will use their HIGHEST League average for their first three (3) games of play (6 games total).
The Handicap allowance will be 100% of 200 Scratch.
SUBSTITUTES and LEGAL LINE UP
Blind scores shall be the absent bowler’s average less 10 pins. If you are uncontactable for a period of three (3) weeks or longer, your position will become vacant. A blind score shall be when a bowler does not submit their scores to Gail Underwood by the required time frame each week of bowling. There shall be no limit on the number of times a blind score can be used.
The only time a vacancy score will be used is if the League has an uneven number of bowlers participating, only then the vacancy score will be 100/100.
The five (5) point system of scoring shall be used. Two (2) points for each game won and one (1) point for overall. All points will be allotted for games including handicap, won and lost.
A bowler who enters the competition after the Season commences shall assume the same number of points as the bowler in last position on the League Schedule, and will qualify for prizes provided the bowler has participated in at least two thirds of the season.
BYES and FORFEITS
If a bowler fails to submit their bowling scores for any nominated week of the Season, then they will automatically forfeit their points for that week, and their opposing bowler for that week will receive points only if they bowl their average less 9.
Any protests affecting eligibility or general playing rules must be confirmed in WRITING to the President, or a Committee Member of BVIT, no later than seventy two (72) hours after the League standing has been posted on the website.
Any discrepancy or complaint pertaining to the running of the League is to be submitted via email to the President, before bowling commences for the following week, and will be resolved by the Committee of BVIT.
In the event of a tie, results for that placing, prize money will be equally distributed.
The League will allow pre-bowling with NO restriction.
ADOPTIONS and AMENDMENTS
The Phantom League Secretary will administer the league on behalf of the BVIT committee in accordance with Clause 13 of the BVIT Constitution.
